We are using Hubspot to follow up our leads. We connected Hubspot (via the HubSpot - Free Marketing Plugin for WordPress) with our forms (created via Contact form 7) and everything went perfect.
Recently we have added some new fields in our contact forms. Unfortunately they are not captured by Hubspot and we cannot see them. How can we fix this?
Have you created a contact property in HubSpot with the exactly the same description as you currently have in your form? If the field doesn’t exist in HubSpot , there is no place for collected forms to put the data.
The preferred method would be to use a WordPress plugin that allows you to map your form entries to a corresponding field in HubSpot. I use Gravity Forms and Big Sea’s HubSpot for Gravity Forms plugin to manage the conneciton. Although I haven’t used it, I know there is a similar tool available for Contact Form 7.
In the long run, the integration plugin will give you a lot more control over how prospect data moves from your forms into HubSpot.
Trevor is right in that the forms api or integration based form is a better suit if you do not want to use the HubSpot form builder forms, this provides a far deeper integration and much more realiability as non-HubSpot forms can miss submissions for various reasons (such as blocked js, extension conflicts etc).
