I am the primary content creator for our 3 person marketing team. The manager of Marketing Operations is the only individual with access to create, add, and edit content to our website via WordPress.
I’m looking for recommendations on how to approach asking for access to WordPress which I’m familiar with and I have experience building HubSpot landing pages at a previous job. I write the majority of the content for the website. Its an efficient workflow.
I’ll tag some community members here who are subject matter experts to share some insights with you: Hey @HubDoPete@Brenner_Natal@CarolinaDeMares Would you kindly share your thoughts with us?
I’m of the opinion that the better approach to this would be to focus on efficiency and accuracy rather than access.
Emphasize that you already have hands-on experience with WordPress and even HubSpot Landing pages. In addition to that, you write the majority of the content, too. So, by asking for direct access, you are trying to reduce the back-and-forth, speed up the publishing process, and minimizing the chances of errors that might occur due to handoffs.
To make it even easier for them to say ‘yes’, begin by asking for role-based permissions and you can proceed from there.
Just a side point, just spitballing, in addition to your accepted solution. I would think there are options that you save your work as a Draft 1,2, or #3 just not have access to publish it in the meantime.
