Hi everyone,
I’m Caitlin, Product Marketing Manager at HubSpot, working across Service Hub and Sales Hub.
Smart Deal Progression launched into public beta at Spring Spotlight, and it’s one of those features that sounds straightforward on paper, AI suggests CRM updates and follow-up emails after your calls, but there’s a lot more to dig into once you’re actually using it. How do you get the most out of transcript based suggestions? How do you get reps to actually engage with the AI suggestions instead of ignoring them, or blindly accepting them??
I’ll be here with PMM Chandni Desai May 18–22 to answer your questions. Whether you’re evaluating it, just getting started, or want to go deeper, drop your questions below.
You can ask us anything about:
- How Smart Deal Progression analyzes transcripts and surfaces CRM update suggestions
- Setting it up on Sales Hub Pro+ or Service Hub Pro+
- Getting reps to actually use the follow-up drafts and action items
- How it fits with your existing notetaker and meeting prep workflow
The more context you share about your setup and team, the more specific I can be.
Looking forward to it,
Caitlin
Comment utiliser IA d’une manière concrète pour produire des finances ?
Interesting question! For sales driven revenue visibility, yes. HubSpot’s forecasting and reporting tools give you pipeline health over time, and AI surfaces the signals behind the numbers, which deals are at risk, what’s trending, where to focus.
For understanding whether your revenue is moving in the right direction and why? HubSpot handles that well. Checking out Commerce Hub could be great for you as well!
Est-ce que IA peut-il suivre la traçabilité de nos finances à moyen terme et à long terme ?
Hi @GHISLAIN-M4gng4! In Sales Hub, the most direct path is Prospecting Agent. It researches prospects, personalizes outreach using CRM data, and sends on a rep’s behalf, so reps spend less time on prep and more time in actual conversations.
Smart Deal Progression adds to this by surfacing which deals need attention right now, so your team isn’t spreading energy across deals that aren’t moving. Focus on the right deals, and conversion rates follow.
AI helps your team focus on the deals they can win and helps move them forward.
For sales teams that are less AI savvy, how would you present this to them to get buy in and usage? What are the gotcha’s that we should get ahead of for these less AI savvy teams?
This is a fantastic question! For a less AI-savvy team, my advice would be don’t pitch the technology, pitch the elimination of tedious admin work between back-to-back meetings. All sales teams have calls or meetings, whether they are in-person, via video conferencing, or phone calls, and they are usually back-to-back with little to no time in between. Smart Deal Progression works in the backend so that after every conversation, there is no manual work required.
I like to think of smart deal progression as a “second brain” for reps, working quietly in the backend that analyzes call transcripts alongside full deal history to automatically suggest CRM updates and draft follow-up emails. Instead of wasting time manually logging details, reps get tailored recommendations that reflects how your team sells, which they can approve in a single click. The biggest “gotcha” to get ahead of is their fear of losing control or having an automated tool push incorrect data to a client. You can completely preempt this by emphasizing that the rep is always in the driver’s seat; Smart Deal Progression only suggests updates, ensuring reps retain 100% control.
If we use a different tool than HubSpot for our AI Transcription (Granola.ai) does that preclude using “Smart Deal Progression” or is there a way to tell HubSpot about those AI transcriptions? I do know there is a Granola HubSpot integration, but unsure if it works with this new feature.
Unfortunately, right now, Smart Deal Progression doesn’t work with integrations like Granola if they only share a meeting summary with HubSpot. The feature needs the full transcript or recording to properly analyze the context and accurately suggest those next steps and CRM updates.
The good news is you can absolutely continue using Granola or your preferred notetaker, as long as HubSpot is also getting the full transcript from the actual meeting platform. For example, you can use Granola for your personal workflow, but also turn on the Zoom-HubSpot integration sharing settings so HubSpot receives the full recording it needs for Smart Deal Progression. You can learn more on how to turn sharing on here.
