Cloning a Deal

Yes, I’ve thought of creating this ticket many times, until just now finding that this idea has already been suggested. Programmatically, it is not difficult at all to clone a record and mandate changes to specific fields before actually enabling the final “Create”’ button. I’m not sure why Hubspot is treatring this a such a challenging problem that, as I’ve been told, can not be done at this time. There is absolutely no reason it can not be done, assuming major design flaws were not made in the backend data schemas.

I’m new to HubSpot and had the same reaction as others did about a CRM that couldn’t copy a contact, asking myself “how could that be?” And this thread goes back 5 years! But I’m glad I read through the whole thread to see the post about the Clone Attack add-on from the Hapily firm. They have various levels including both free and paid.

Hi! Guys, you can try out - CloneNer app which easily clones Deals, Contacts, Companies and Tickets. Also, it preserves all associations, including line items, related elements. It has a free plan, so you can test it.

Finally! This is excellent. Thanks for letting me know it exists. I’ve installed it and will make great use of it.
Thank you!
Don

I will often send out a meeting request and it then gets forwarded to other people at my prospect’s company. As they accept the meeting I want to add them into HubSpot, but it is not a good use of my time to type the same information in the same fields multiple times. PLEASE give us the ability to “clone” a contact.

This would be a valuable feature to help improve deal management in accounts where there can be multiple contacts or multiple activities in a period of time that generate leads which when worked often consolidate.

I agree. I’d love this feature

Totally agree, we need this feature

This is an essential feature for every sales software and CRM.

Yes, you should be able to do this and select which fields/options you want to copy at least at a high level like:

Select the options to clone:

- All fields

- Notes

-Activities

Then set the new close date to the latest deal’s close date + 1 year, 2 years, etc. or whatever the frequency should be with respect to the current closed deal’s close date.

Puhleeese!

Another upvote - Had another customer request this

Yep. Still not sorted?

+ 1 here. Simply deploy and feature to build. Please, hurry up.

This would be a great feature!

We need that too.

Yes. This very basic functionality needs to be in HubSpot. I have deals that repeat with slight variations for the same customers and it would save a lot of time to be able to simply clone an existing deal to create a new one, and then modify the new one slightly as needed. Trello, my previous tool for tracking deals, makes this very easy. Anyone from HubSpot able to weigh in here?

Requirement for productivity improvement:

faster to clone when doing monthly recurring deals,

We would use this really often. Currently, I need to create a new deal for each renewal, which often has the same properties. Would love to be able to clone a deal for the same client or to assign to a new client.

This is extremely necessary
