Chatflow needed for private content that returns AI answers and not just articles

Our knowlegebase is private content with registration. We’d like to set up a chatflow that uses AI to produce a reply using the contents of the site rather than simply return a list of articles. Thus far, to do this I am told that I have to export our KB to PDFs and then configure the Customer Agent chatflow to use the uploaded files as sources. This seems incredibly onerous - we’d have to reexport and reupload every time we add a new article!. Why can’t a Customer Agent chatflow mine private content? It seems so restrictive. Am I missing something?

Hi @SBosevich,

If your KB is built with HubSpot’s Knowledge Base (even when set to private), Customer Agent can use it directly, and KB changes sync automatically.

If your KB is on a non‑HubSpot site behind login, the agent can’t crawl those gated pages. In that case, the supported options are to upload files as sources or author the content in HubSpot’s Knowledge Base.

Let me know if you need clarification for syncing the KB changes (new articles) on HubSpot.

If this helps, feel free to mark it as the solution :check_mark: and give it an upvote :+1: !

Hey - I think I figured out the issue. 1) I was led astray by HubSpot AI agent - it has a LONG way to go before being useful. 2) I had not selected AI Agent to assign the chat to. Problem is, it’s looking outside of our private content for the answers. I suspect that is because our Help Desk agent is pointed towards certain public pages for content that is used to help our support agents field a ticket. However, it should NOT be used by the AI bot in the Knowledgebase. Not sure if this needs to go on a separate question, on Ideas.
