Hi there,

I was wondering if there was a way to change the lead status of contact based on the prospect responding to an email.

My first thought was to put together a workflow that triggered when a lead’s status was set to “Outreach Sent”, but then I couldn’t find a property for when the prospect reaches back out.

Not sure if this is something common that folks are dealing with, but it would be nice to have an automated way of changing lead status when a contact replies to an email.

Hi @tpatel,

This can be achieved with a short workflow:

 ![karstenkoehler_1-1625197375248.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/8/2/82aeda49a5f858a95a7c6469c081dd39fd9732cc.png)

_Recent sales email replied date_ stores the last time a tracked sales email was replied to by this user. By including _Lead status_ in the enrollment trigger you can make sure that it only gets updated in certain conditions, in my example that it doesn’t get rolled back from “Open deal” to “In progress”.

When you switch this on, consider only including contacts that meet the criteria from now on. Otherwise a lot of contacts will be mass updated.

I’d also recommend testing this on a few contacts to make sure this works as you would like it to.

Best regards!

Hey there!

Coming back to this thread to ask if the same thing can be achieved but for an outbound email being logged.

I see “recent sales email replied” date property, but not a “recent sales email sent”. Of course there is Last activity date, but that’s inclusive of many activities.

Any insight on how to change a status (a custom one we use to track sales-outreach) to indicate there is “active outbound communication ongoing” when an outbound email is sent?

Thanks!!

-Nick

Any way to remove automatic out-of-office type replies?

Otherwise it would wrongly indicate a connection has been made with the prospective client, although it hasn’t.
