I’ve created a few custom properties on the line item object, and formatted them as numbers (formatted as a currency).
When entering an amount, it seems to default tothe company currency (Euros), rather than the deal or line item’s currency.
So for example, on line item X you may see:
Amount = 1,000 GBP
TCV = 1,000 GBP
[My custom property] = 1,000 Euros
Is there a way to ensure that these amounts are formatted to the line item’s currency (in this case, GBP), rather than the company default of euros? I don’t see a way to configure this during property creation, nor within the line item itself.
Hey @MBlack8
This is actually expected behavior in HubSpot. Custom currency-formatted properties on line items always use the account’s default currency, not the deal or line item currency. Unfortunately, there’s no setting to change that right now.
That’s why your standard properties (Amount, TCV, etc.) show GBP, but your custom property shows EUR.
At the moment, there’s no way to make a custom line item property inherit the line item’s currency.
Quick workaround:
If the currency symbol is causing confusion, one option is to change the property to a plain number (no currency formatting) and rely on the line item’s currency field for context.
If this is important for your team, I’d also recommend submitting it as an Idea in the Community so others can upvote it and help push it up the product roadmap.
Hope that helps!

Hey @MBlack -- What Carolina said is correct. However, as I was looking into this, I discovered that there’s a “Use record currency instead of company currency” checkbox when you create custom deal properties, so I’ve reached out to the product team and recommended that they add this feature for custom line item properties, too. I have no idea how complicated it will be for them to enable that, but since they’ve already cracked the code for deals, I’m holding out hope that it’ll be an easy fix!

The man himself! Thanks Kyle, and yes, I know that it’s possible for deals – would be great if we could have this for line items too. ![]()
