Hi,

I have created a subscription form and connected to the workflow. There is a couple of problems I am facing in setting up a workflow in a more convenient way.
1. Once the user fill the subscription box the lifecycle stage automatically becomes lead, but I want them to fall into the subscriber lifecycle stage. I tried but I didn’t find any way to change the lifecycle stage automatically when visitors fill out the subscriber form.
2. If you see in the below image I set the workflow, first “clear contact property lifecycle stage” and then “assign a new lifecycle stage as a subscriber.”

I know it’s not a convenient method to that. I also tried no to use “clear contact property lifecycle stage” action trigger and simply use “assign a new lifecycle stage as subscriber”, but I found there is no change in lifecycle stage form lead to subscriber. Can anyone help me how shall I do it without using clear the contact property action trigger.

Hi @SSingh62,

If your goal is to mark the contact who submits this form as “Subscriber”, then this can be achieved with a hidden Lifecycle stage field, set to “Subscriber” as a default value: [Pass contact property values with hidden form fields](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/pass-contact-property-values-with-hidden-form-fields)

This will override the usual rule that a [contact who submits a form is a “Lead”](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/use-lifecycle-stages)., see this test I just ran:

Regarding your second question, there might be other automatic HubSpot processes at play. Can you navigate to the contact record, hover your mouse over the _Lifecycle stage_ field in the left sidebar and click the _Details_ button?

This will show you a history of the tools that updated this property’s value.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Thaks Karsten for taking this up.
Can you share a video on how to do it, I tried but was not able to do it.
