Recently, Conversations in Hubspot started changing how they are associated when an email is forwarded. If an email is forwarded, the info of the original email is used to the conversation’s associations.
For example, if my boss forwards an email he received from a client, the conversation is associated with the client - not my boss. This is great for any emails that co-workers forward to me.
However, this happens when a client forwards an email they received as well. In this case, I would like the conversation to be associated with my client, not whoever originally emailed them.
It would be great if there were options or settings for this conversation association so that we would change the default behaviour and have an exception list (based on email domain) for special cases. In my case, I would turn off the special association by default and have an exception for my company’s email domain that enabled it.
I think my problem is similar; when you forward an email previously sent to another Company (prospect) the newly copied email is then logged in Hubspot as associated with the former Company AND the second Company you are sending the email to.
I’d like, by default, for forwarded emails NOT to have an automatic association. And secondly, when trying to clean up Hubspot for wrongly associated Activities for a Company or Contact, to have the ability to tick a box (like when selecting all emails to delete in your inbox) that allows you to take the same action (dis-associate) across all Activities in that record.
This is a big problem. I use this for legal work and the client forwarded an email from the counterparty. It associated the email with the counterparty so, if I reply within hubspot it would send the response to the counterparty instead of the client. Where is the HubSpot team on resolving this?
We’re seeing this same problem as well.
Partner A sends an email to Client B, which Client B then forwards to us -- without Partner A CC’ed. The email is logged to Partner A, and there’s no way to associate it with Client B, who is the one we need to associate it with.
