Is it possible to categorize or tag an email in the activity stream? How can we segregate just the prospecting emails from general follow ups? We have a report we are using to track the outgoing prospecting emails and in the report I can’t tell which is just a follow up for something else and which is new outreach.

Hi @LNitti,

Unfortunately not, no, this is not possible. HubSpot doesn’t support creating activity properties or tags.

Other users have requested this before but it’s unfortunately not planned: [https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Custom-properties-for-Activities-Tasks-Meetings-etc/idi-p/204853](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Custom-properties-for-Activities-Tasks-Meetings-etc/idi-p/204853)

Still, you can help others find this more easily and drive traction by upvoting and by accepting my reply as a solution. The product team might reevaluate.

Have a great day!

Hi All - I’ve been working with a few of my clients on how to solve this problem and I’ve got a solution - Email Classifier - Email Classifier does exactly this. It reads emails in flight through Outlook or Microsoft 365, classifies them against industry presets (prospecting, follow-up, etc.), and logs the classification natively in HubSpot’s activity stream without storing the raw message. You get segregation by type automatically, plus contact and company timeline updates. I work on the tool—happy to walk through how it’d fit your workflow.
