# can't remove template folder

I’m trying to clean up our templates and add a few more, but it won’t let me delete the template folder as it says there are still templates in there. I’ve confirmed—the folders I want to delete are empty. please advise!

Even if the folder looks empty, HubSpot might think it still contains templates. Here’s what you can try:

Steps to fix it:

1. **Refresh or log out/in**  
HubSpot might not refresh the folder view right away. A quick reload or logout can help.
2. **Clear filters**  
Make sure there are no filters hiding templates.
3. **Refresh the page or use incognito mode** : Sometimes the UI doesn’t update correctly, and the folder still appears in use. A quick refresh or logging in from an incognito window can help.
4. **Permissions** : Ensure you have the necessary permissions to delete folders.

If none of that works, it might be a backend issue — in that case, I’d recommend reaching out to HubSpot support with a screenshot and the folder name.

Hi @adecker1 and welcome, we are so glad to have you here!  
Great question, thanks for asking the HubSpot Community and thanks @GerardoMuro for your help!  
I can see in this article “[Create and send sales templates](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/templates/create-and-send-templates)” that, to create and edit more than the first three templates, you must meet some criteria.  
To delete the template folder, you could have an admin with a sales seat do it or you could ask an admin in your Hub to give you a sales seat.  
This should allow you to delete the templates and folders.
