Hey dear Hubspot community,
is it not possible to link a new conversation to existing deals?
If not, how could I possibly do that? (without external outlook - manual link in the deal interface)
See screenshot below, I can only create new deals but cant choose an existing one.
Hello @thepattau @RichardGrange ! I understand you want to link conversations with deals.
While that cannot be done directly in HubSpot, you can achieve a similar result by connecting conversations to tickets. This can even be done automatically if you enable the option in conversation settings.
Once a conversation is associated with a ticket, you can then link the ticket to the deal. This way everything is connected - the deal, ticket, and desired conversation.

Thats quite dissapointing to hear, in many use - cases customers dont directly reply to an email when they send a new one - but it might still regard a existing deal/project.
Would be very easy to just add a button to link to an existing deal…

Sure. A client may not necessarily reply to a previous email but send a new one instead. In this case, a new ticket would be created for that conversation. The good news is that multiple tickets can be associated with the same deal. We typically manage all conversations by linking their respective tickets to the relevant deals. I hope you can test this approach, as I believe it’s currently the best workaround available.
