Cannot access Contacts/Companies page as pop-up does not close

Unfortunately there is a pop-up blocking everything in hubspot with no way to close it, the only options are “buy now” or “talk to sales”, is this a bug on your end? Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Hubspot team unable to solve bug!

Hey @DS2,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

This doesn’t look like any type of bug, as much as it does a notice that you’ve reached limits within your free tier. You’ll see the yellow banner behind the pop-up in your screenshot that mentions you having reached your 1,000 contact limit.

Out of curiosity, are you able to click “Talk to Sales” > click out of wherever that re-directs you?

Hi Shane,

Thank you very much for your quick reply, I still have approx. 50 contacts left until my limit of 1000. And unfortunately clicking “buy now” I get an error saying “We’re sorry: Your purchase could not be completed. Please contact Sales for assistance. Talk to Sales” and clicking “Talk to Sales” just opens the chat-bot, but this pop-up remains frozen on top of the screen not allowing me to use anything at all on the page. Hubspot has essentially become unusable now as all my contacts and company info is not accessible

Hi @DS2

It’s pretty hard to see (and I wonder if they did that on purpose, sneaky buggers) but if you look at that window, there is a very tiny, faint “X” in the top right hand corner.

That should allow you to close this popup, but if you are clicking the X and it’s still not responding, I would be curious to know if it persists in an incognito window as well. If using an incognito browser makes this disappear, I would consider clearing your Cache history and trying again.

If the X and an incognito window both fail, I would call HubSpot Support directly to see if they can’t disable it on their end.

Hopefully that helps!

Interesting. I got this problem too, and yes, this is certainly something somebody has done on purpose. In sales, they were not aware of this. Thx for the tip, though, the invisible X in the top right solves this.

In sales, BTW, they could also confirm I was not close to any limits yet.

And if you wonder how I got to chat with sales since the modal window disables everything, the answer is that I used the back button of the browser to get away from the jam.

Logging in anew in an incognito browser windows yields the same end result: the modal window which blocks everything, so this is clearly some kind of sneaky sales campaign from the Hubspot side.

And maybe I could add, when contacting Sales by chat, either they were not aware of this issue or at least they pretended they were not aware of this…
