# Can you query custom properties?

I am looking for an api that wil query companies and only return those based on the value of a custom property that I have created.

Hey @jboekholt,

Just to clarify, are you looking to retrieve all companies and you’d like to only show the custom properties on the return response? If so, while some default properties will also get return on the response body, you can using the parameters “&properties” to specific the properties that you’d like to be returned in the response

i.e. GET /crm/v3/objects/companies?properties=custompropertyname

Or, are you looking to search and return only companies that has a certain custom property value?

i.e. find all companies with custompropertyname value equal to 123?
