I recently marked a COMPANY with the LIFECYCLE STAGE = Marketing Qualified Lead, when I actually meant to mark a single contact within the account as MQL.
Now this used the auto-sync and marked all CONTACT records as that Lifecycle Stage. No problem, I will just reset their statuses back to lead.
However, the timestamp field updated by Hubspot ‘Date entered "Marketing Qualified Lead (Lifecycle Stage Pipeline)’ has time stamped all these records.
Much of our MQL reporting (and other reporting) uses this property, and as a result it has made all our reports incorrect.
Therefore the question… is there any way to clear this field?

Setting the lifecycle stage back to an earlier stage clears the ‘Became a …’ date property for the stages that come after, while retaining the dates of the stage before – so that could be a potential workaround. Using the ‘Became a …’ property instead.
The ‘Date entered …’ properties cannot be reset, it seems. I tried a few things just now (including a workflow that uses the ‘Clear property value’ action) but the values persist.
In other words: What you’re trying to accomplish is unfortunately not possible. You’ll have to either
- Switch to the ‘Became a …’ date properties
- Delete the records and recreate them
- Accept the small inaccuracy in your report
