In short, page speed certainly helps but keep in mind that Google decides how often to check (or “crawl”) your site based on a few main things:
Crawl Budget – This is basically the number of pages Google is willing to look at on your site during a certain time. That depends on:
- How fast your site responds – If your site is slow or has issues, Google won’t crawl as much.
- How much interest there is – If your content is popular or changes a lot, Google is more interested in crawling it.
Content Updates – If you’re regularly adding or updating pages—especially important ones—Google notices and tends to come back more often.
Links & Traffic – Pages that get a lot of visitors usually get crawled more often.
Site Speed & Health – If your site loads quickly and doesn’t have errors, Google can crawl it more easily and efficiently.
