Can I add reference numbers with Deal Names automatically?

Hi,
I have multiple deals with the same company and it’d be great to have a custom reference number allocated with all my deals.
It will make my life easier to create, submit, and track proposals/quotes I have sent.
What I want is whenever anybody from my team creates a new deal, an automatic reference number appears.
Can I do that? If yes, how?

Hi @RidaZaidi,

HubSpot automatically assigns all records a record ID. That would by far be the easiest option and can be included easily within a deal name, if needed.

If that doesn’t work, can you please elaborate which logic a reference number would follow?

Yes, that unique ID should be in the Deal Name as well. How can I do that?
Other than that, if my company wants to follow a particular format for the reference number in the Deal Name, how can I do that?

For a particular format, you would have to first define what that format is. There is no broad general solution here.

As Karsten already suggested you could do this by using the Deal Name and attaching the Record ID within a workflow. You also mentioned wanting to follow a specific number format which isn’t currently possible as a native HubSpot function.
