Can Active Lists in HubSpot be Synced Directly to Outreach for Automated Sequencing?

Is it possible to sync Active lists from Hubspot into the Outreach Integration?
I am aware of the syncing of contacts and accounts but am looking for something a bit different.
We plan to use Hubspot active lists, where leads join automatically and move into an Outreach sequence. This way the Outreach sequence will run once a new lead joins the Hubspot list.
Is that even possible?

Hey @Kochman! Thanks for your post. Since the Outreach integration uses Hubspot Data Sync there is no way to use List membership to initiate a sync. That said, what if you used that List membership as enrollment to a workflow to change the value of a custom property? That way you can add that custom property to the data sync and it would come over.

Maybe some of our subject matter experts can confirm if my suggestion would work or offer an alternative! Hey @johnelmer, @RSchweighart -- any advice here?

Thanks @kennedyp, thats an interesting approach. I will make sure to investigate that.

Hi @Kochman, @kennedyp’s approach is a good suggestion. Curious if that worked for you?

Another option may be to use Zapier.

You’d use this step as the trigger:

Then, the action step would likely be:

Hi @Kochman

You’re right that native Data Sync between HubSpot and Outreach doesn’t support triggering on Active List membership, it only syncs object data like contacts or accounts

(Connect and use HubSpot data sync)

A reliable workaround is to use a HubSpot workflow that enrolls contacts when they join your active list, then updates a custom property (for example “Send to Outreach = Yes”). That property change can be part of your Data Sync mapping, so Outreach detects it and starts the right sequence.

If you prefer not to touch mappings, you can go a bit further: use a custom-coded workflow action or Zapier step to call Outreach’s sequence API directly once someone enters the list. HubSpot explains how to trigger external actions safely from workflows here

(Workflows | Custom Code Actions)

This keeps Outreach aligned without manual imports or lag. If consistent list-to-sequence automation is critical across both tools, Stacksync keeps HubSpot and Outreach in real-time two-way sync, list entries, properties, and sequence status all stay mirrored without workflow patches.
