# Campaign trigger in workflows

I am looking to create tasks and other workflow activities when a campaign meeting specific criteria are created or modified.

And exactly do you mean by “campaign meeting specific criteria are created or modified.”?

Please do take the time to explain a specific use case, the more likely members of the community will be able to tell you if it’s possible or not, and if it’s not - a well structured and detailed use case will help the HubSpot product team assess and scope possible feature development.

One example may be that I have a field for campaign type, with the option of ‘Conference’. When I create a campaign with campaign type = conference, I may want to create tasks for coordinating with the conference vendor, booking flights, etc.

Additionally, for a campaign that is marked as ‘complete’ I may want to create a task to do a retrospective.

Another option might be that I want to set a duration, and when set a campaign to active, i may i want to automatically update the start and end date of the campaign based on the date and the duration.  
I may also want to dynamically edit a user-lookup field field based on the status of the contract to help manage ownership of the campaign based on where it is.

I did not include specific use cases in campaigns because realistically I’m looking to have campaigns (and many other objects, frankly) treated the same way as other objects in workflow, where I can select any field to automate with workflow.  
Most CRM’s that have automation tools allow you to select any object and field. Workflows wont be complete until that’s true.

Hi! Thanks so much for taking the time to write this up!

We’re currently running a private beta that makes Campaigns available as an object in workflows and adds contact-based enrollment when a contact is influenced by a campaign. That means you can use campaign properties (like name, status, dates, owner, budget/spend) directly in workflows, and you can trigger automation when a contact is “influenced” by a specific campaign.
