Area: Deals

Purpose: Compare an input number to a static number to see if it is higher.

As part of minimum requirements to respond to a given RFP, I need to compare our insurance coverage to the required coverage.

For example:

My General Liability Coverage: $2,000,000

Required General Liability Coverage: $3,000,000

Can I create a property with a calculation field that if the required number (entered into the field) is equal to my coverage (nested in the formula), then the number stays the same? And if I am under the number, it will calculate the deficit and/or turn the number red to alert me to undercoverage?

Is an alternative to put our insurance coverage in our Hubspot record and ask it to compare to the input coverage for each deal?

Hi @KCole2523,

This can indeed be done with a calculation property: [Create calculation and rollup properties](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-calculation-properties)

- Choose a custom equation
- Select output to be boolean
- Use an if statement to check whether your custom property \> your threshold

There is formula guidance both in the linked article and when you get errors in the editor. Let me know how it goes and if you have any follow-up questions!

I created the input field (Ins: Gen Liab per Occur) and mirrored the Boolean statement based on the example from Knowledge page (if([properties.number] \< 4, “less than four”, “more than four”) but it is not allowing me to test the formula.

@KCole2523 click on the red dot “1 issue” to see instructions on what to fix and how. If you’re creating a Boolean, output should be true/false. If that’s not an option, change output to text.

Best regards!
