Bulk update deal's close date (Same as contact creation date)

Hello all,
So I imported bunch of deals today but for some reason, the close date was not included. I can try re-importing the CSV file I want to learn how to do this using the custom workflow.

Thankfully the Contacts and Companies got assosiated with the deals since I included the record ID. The close date should be same as the Contacts’ creation date. How do I update?
Appreacuate the help!

Hi @jupiter1,

The contact create date in HubSpot would be the date you imported the contacts on - would that still be correct?

If you want to copy the value from the contact “Create date” into the deal “Close date”, you would create a contact-based workflow: Create workflows

You would create a contact-based workflow and enroll contacts when “Create date is known”.

You could then use the “Set property value” action to update the deal “Close date”:

This workflow can also be created as a deal-based workflow but it’s a bit more complex and should achieve the same goal.

Let me know if you need a more detailed description on any of the steps.

Okay this is awesome, thank you so much for replying.
See the screenshot below, is this correct? How does the ‘copy property value’ know the create date is of contact’s? Is there a way to target specific pipeline? Can I run it just one time, I don’t want it to affect new deals which are more based the time invoice was cleared. I’m only targetting older deals.

@jupiter1 if you want to limit this to a pipeline, here’s how you would set this up, using a deal-based workflow.

Let me know if you’re getting stuck.

I tried but it requires Pro plan and I only pay for the standard. That’s a bummer.
Anyway, thanks for the help!

I can set the trigger but ‘Copy Property’ is locked. Little strange because I can use in the contact based workflow but not in the deal based workflow.
