Bulk modification of company contacts via Excel

This may be covered somewhere but I have’t benn able to find anything.

I am trying to export all company records, modify some fields, but primarliy add new contacts in excel and then re import all the data so that the new contacts are associated with their correct companies and vice vers. Each time I have tried (many times!!) the contact field is not linked to a company. Any help wold be much appreciated.

Hi @MLaw7,

To associate companies and contacts upon import, you must import two objects in the same file or in two files linked through an identifier. You can find sample files here: Format import files

Make sure to map the company Record ID during the import (in the property mapping step), otherwise there is a risk of HubSpot creating duplicates.
