Hello HubSpot Community,
I’m experiencing a persisitent bug with the HubSpot Sales browser extension (version 3.0.0.33481 on Chrome) when using it on LinkedIn.
**Expected Behavior:**
When I view an individual’s personal profile page on LinkedIn, the extension sidebar should show a form to “Create Contact,” allowing me to add that person to my CRM.
**Actual Behavior:**
Instead, on every personal profile I visit, the sidebar incorrectly shows a form to “Create Company.” It automatically fills the “Company domain name” with “linkedin.com” and leaves the company name blank. The option to create a contact is not available.
**Troubleshooting steps I’ve Already Taken:**
* Hard refreshing the page (Ctrl+Shift+R)
* Testin on multiple different personal LinkedIn profiles
* Completely clearing my browser’s cache and cookies for both HubSpot and LinkedIn
* Logging out and back in to both HubSpot and LinkedIn
* Confirming the extension has “On all sites” permission enabled
* Checking that linkedin.com is not on my “Website exclusions” list
Since none of these standard fixes have worked, it seems the extension is currently unable to correctly read the data from LinkedIn’s personal profile pages.
Any help getting this issue escalated to the produc team would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hi @QontrolleHQ ,
Based on what you’ve described, it sounds like a glitch with the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension.
Since you’ve already covered all the usual troubleshooting (refreshing, clearing cache, checking permissions, etc.), I’d say the next best step is to escalate this to HubSpot Support so their product team can dig into it.
I’m also tagging some amazing community managers here @DianaGomez, @kvlschaefer, @PamCotton, and @lalexander, who might be able to flag this internally and help move things along.
Hope it gets resolved quickly!
Thank you so much, Arisudan! I really appreciate you validating the issue and tagging the community managers. I’ll wait to hear from them.
Hi @QontrolleHQ and thanks for the ping @ArisudanTiwari.
I’ve reviewed our records and haven’t found any other customers reporting this exact issue, which suggests it might be specific to your setup. I recommend you try disabling other browser extensions one by one to identify if there’s a conflict.
Best,
Diana
Hi Diana,
Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have now completed the conflict test.
I disabled all other browser extensions as requested, leaving only “HubSpot Sales” active, and then restarted my browser.
Unfortunately, the issue persists. The extension still incorrectly shows the “Create Company” form instead of “Create Contact” on all personal profiles. I’ve attached a screenshot showing the result of the test with all other extensions disabled.
This confirms that the issue is not a conflict with another extension.
Looking forward to the team’s next steps.
Best,
Khaled
Hi @ArisudanTiwari,
Could you please send me the link to this extension so I can review it in more detail?
Thanks!
Diana
Hi @QontrolleHQ ,
Please share the extension link with @DianaGomez.
Hi Diana,
Thank you for the follow-up, and thnks to @ArisudanTiwari for helping to facilitate.
Here is the link to the HubSpot Sales extension in the Chrome Web Store as requested:
The version I have installed is 3.0.0.33481, which is the same one I referenced in my original post.
Just to reiterate, I also completed the conflict test you suggested by disabling all other extensions, and the issue still persisted. The screenshot from that test is in my previous reply.
Please let me know what the nest steps are.
Best,
Khaled
Hi @QontrolleHQ,
The link does not work. Could you please send it again?
Hi Diana,
My apologies, it seems that I may have broken the link without noticing.
Let’s try this again. Please copy and paste the plain text URL below directly into your browser’s address bar:
This is the direct link to the extension in the Chrome Web Store
Thanks for your continued help on this.
Best,
Khaled
Hi @QontrolleHQ,
Thanks for the link. However, this extension was created for Email tracking and CRM for Gmail, not for LinkedIn. You might be using a different extension for LinkedIn. Let me know which extension are you using for LinkedIn.
Thanks,
Diana
