One of my leads from Canada told me that he couldn’t fill out the lead form on our website (HS lead form, of course) because his email address was rejected.
I checked and it is true - if the email address you enter ends in “.ca”, the HubSpot form will in many cases reject it.
for example, these two works:
and those two are rejected:
Please fix this, this bug creates real risk of losing leads due to bouncing.
thanks!
Hey @PLysakowski, thank you for posting in our Community.
This could be due to the form’s email validation settings or spam filtering rules. I recommend checking the validation rules in the form settings to ensure “.ca” domains aren’t being restricted. If the issue persists, reaching out to HubSpot Support may be necessary to investigate further.
In the meantime, your lead could try using an alternate email domain as a temporary solution.
To our top experts @TomM2 and @CHawkins do you have any recommendations for @PLysakowski?
Let me know if you need further assistance!
Kindly,
Pam
@PLysakowski I did a quick test on one of my website forms and also couldn’t get a .ca email to submit:
@PamCotton I checked the form to make sure it wasn’t blocking free emails, although .ca isn’t on the list that should be blocked:
and the Email field is a HubSpot default field without any rules:
From what I can tell, HubSpot doesn’t recognize the .ca top level domain, including on the HubSpot website:
I don’t think this is something that can be fixed without escalating to the HubSpot engineers.
