Trying to understand how teams are handling this in practice.
Every month-end I hear about people exporting pipeline data from HubSpot into Excel, cleaning it up, converting currencies, building charts, then formatting everything into a deck for the board or management team.
Is that still the norm, or have you found something that makes it less painful?
Specifically curious about:
- How long it takes you end to end
- Whether multi-currency adds complexity
- What you wish existed that doesn’t yet

Reporting processes can vary depending on how your team’s portal is set up. Natively, reports and dashboard can be exported or shared on a scheduled cadence. You can find more on this here:
That said, I’d love to hear how others are handling this! Tagging in some of our Top Contributors to share their workflows:
Hey @EugeneAtKiwi, @CarolinaDeMares, @karstenkoehler -- do you have any specific suggestions for @NeilKsh on this?
Thanks in advance!

Honest answer: plenty of teams still export to a sheet, but how much depends on how much you’ve already moved into HubSpot dashboards.
What you can usually stop doing by hand is the recurring numbers. Pipeline, bookings, forecast and stage movement all live in dashboards, and you can schedule those to email out on a cadence so nobody rebuilds them every month. And if multi-currency is set up properly, HubSpot converts deal amounts into your company’s default currency using the exchange rates you set, so the “convert everything in Excel” step mostly disappears. That part catches people out, they don’t realise it’s already handled.
What still drags people back to Excel and a deck:
- Historical snapshots. Native reports show current state, so “what did each month-end actually look like” still takes work.
- The narrative. Boards want commentary and a story, not just charts, and that stays manual.
- Anything cross-object or oddly specific that the report builder won’t quite do.
So for me it’s dashboards plus scheduled sends for the standing numbers, and export only survives for the snapshot history and the board narrative. If you tell me which part eats your time, currency, snapshots or the formatting, I can be more specific.
