Blog Post not Showing up in Blog Roll

Hello - I would appreciate some insight. I have been publishing blog posts for a couple years now and all of a sudden, the blog posts stopped showing up in the blog roll. In addition, I am no longer given the option to create a social media post with the blog. I have attempt to publish blog post different ways but the post only shows up in the backend and not displayed in the roll.

I contacted Hubspot chat, thinking I did something obviously wrong. However; they were unable to determine what changed and why the blog post just stopped displaying in the blog roll.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks! Pamela

Hello @PMcDaniel! That sounds very suspicious. I’ve been running Hubspot accounts for almost a decade and have not experienced this issue. Did Support go through all the Blog Settings and the Tabs with you? All of your social accounts are still hooked up and able to be used?

When weird things like this happen and they are not affecting other Hubspot users, it makes me think that perhaps your individual login to the Hubspot system is not completely there. Did Support have you clear your browser cache, shut down the computer, reboot and relogin? If there’s no issues with Hubspot settings, it could be that you are not actually “logged in” to your Hubspot account because of some cookie or other browser issue. I would give a full shutdown and restart a try next.

Please let us know what you’ve tried and if there have been any changes (good or bad).

Thanks for your response. Here is the update. It appears to go a layer below the log-ins and blog settings. It involves blog roll/listing, especially with tags. The Hubspot provider who set up our blogs and tags did something unexpected and the blog roll settings need a tweak to get blog posts to show up in the right blog roll.

I am having trouble finding information on setting up blog rolls. The issue is really obvious for which blog roll is displayed when you view a blog roll all > tagged blog roll > blog roll all. The 2 views of “All” are not displayed the same. Please let me know if you have information on this. Thanks for the time!!!

Hi @PMcDaniel! Gotcha! Yes, I understand what you are saying. I have a blog view that only shows blogs with particular tags. Someone else set it up and I’ve not looked at it closely. But I will take a look today and let you know what I can discover.

@PMcDaniel could you by chance share your blog URL?
While we’re considering the tags, have you also looked into Smart Content and made sure that there are no new rules that might be stopping some content from appearing? Smart Content is another Hubspot tool that can limit the view of content for some.
On my website we have 4 different blogs setup in the Hubspot Settings. When I get into the Design Manager of the template for one of my blogs, I see this code. Notice Line 5: (I didn’t write this)

If you can get to this spot in your account, you might compare your template code to this and maybe there will be a clue.

What the past designer did to limit a view of this blog is create a module that only shows links to blogs with particular tags. Here is the code for that. Notice Line 11:

I’m not sure if this helps at all, but maybe it’ll give you something new to look at and consider.

@MiaSrebrnjak could you perhaps take a look at this thread and recommend another Champion who might be better at the backend of blogs to come assist? Thanks!

Thank you for the tag @Crystal_Hopper and your help here! We really appreaciate it! :yellow_heart:

@PMcDaniel I’ve checked the support case that you filed and it seems the issue above occured because you have multiple blogs in your account and the wrong blog was selected when you were publishing the blog pages? I’ve also seen that you have additional questions about the blog setup; I recommend to continue working with support on this, as they have access to your blog settings and are therefore best equipped to help with those questions. Thank you!

Cheers

Hello - Yes, it appears the blog rolls are not set up according to expected results. I will continue to wait for Hubspot Support to help with this. Thanks to @MiaSrebrnjak and @Crystal_Hopper for the ideas and help. I will let you know how Hubspot Support helps me resolve the blog roll display issue.

Big thanks - Pamela
