Better alternative to pushing a lead through a workflow?

Hi all,

I’m currently working on a massive workflow for our lead scoring project that involves Hubspot scoring, tier lists and a rollback system for qualified/unqualified leads. The idea is that a lead can go from tier 3 to tier 1 and ultimately become an SQL. However, I’d like to include a rollback function that when a contact is marked as a qualified lead (and goes on to the deal stage) is rolled back into a waiting list where they will sit for 180 days until they can start to gather points again.
I have involved sales and discussed possible rollback triggers. Ultimately, this is what I’ve come up with:

When sales find a lead in the tier 1 list, they will write a note on the contact and then mark it as a qualified MQL. This will then push the contact through the system, removing them from the tier system and push them into the rollback workflow.
But to avoid the human error of potentially marking it first and then write a note (which will fail the workflow), are there any better alternatives to triggering that is much more forgiving?
Hope that makes sense.
Best,
Linus

Hi @LHolmberg7

Gonna be honest, not really following the tier approach, rollback and criteria you have shared - it mentions deal stage in the filter, but you are talking about contacts I assume.

I would say this based on 8+ years of experience, lead scoring should be a one-time process for net new contacts. Rollbacks, resets, scoring based on different product groups or segments becomes very complicated, very quickly. Keep it simple would be my very generic advice…

Hi Frank,
Thanks for your input! I will take it into consideration. However, my question about an easy-to-use trigger still remains as I want to use it to automatically send a lead to the pipeline. So, do you have experience with an easier alternative that trigger it to be sent to the deal stage based on sales interacting with the lead?
