Beta Cookie Scanning with HS Banner not Blocking Google Analytics Cookies

Hi everyone,

We have tried to use the scan and block cookies beta but it isn’t blocking all of our cookies.

Specifically, the Google Analytics cookies are still dropping before the user has accepted or declined the popup meaning we’ve had to remove them from our site for the time being - not ideal.

The scan was a success:

It found all of our cookies and we were able to edit their category and description.

We’re using an external site so then copied the blocking script into the head tag of our site.

It appears as though the other third-party cookies are being blocked, just not the Google Analytics. This has got us thinking we’re doing something wrong because they’ve got to be some of the most common cookies out there.

Is there anything we can do about this or is it just a symptom of the beta?

We’re using the native HS cookie banner as required.

**Supporting info from the What is It section of the beta page:

“HubSpot’s cookie scanner detects and categorizes all the cookies on your website and can block them until visitors have given their consent. Use it to prevent cookies from dropping on website visitors’ browsers before they accept your cookie banner. This feature allows the HubSpot cookie banner to manage all external and third-party cookies (and not only those belonging to HubSpot).”

Hey, @TVout :waving_hand: Thanks for flagging this! I’m going to do some research and find the Product Team for this beta. Hopefully, we can pass along your experience and feedback.

I’ll follow up here with any additional information I get for us.

Best,

Jaycee

Brilliant, thanks Jaycee! Looking forward to hearing from you!
