Hello Hubspot community,
I’m looking for best practices about upgrades in Hubspot. We have integrated a group who want to adopt Hubspot enterprise for all their brands. We have a lot of work in our Pro account.
What is the smartest way to proceed: migrate all of our data into the new Enterprise account, OR upgrade our Pro account to an Enterprise one so that they start building in our account?
Any testimony, dos and donts welcome
Thanks
Hi @Cococool
The right answer depends a lot on your company structure and policies - and you should definitely discuss it with your HubSpot contact.
You will most likely need to use business units to separate the assets and information relating to the different brands in the group (necessary for separate, branded, email subscription management too).
If the current brand that uses HubSpot is happy to be the main or primary brand, you can upgrade HubSpot, add business units, and assign all current contacts and assets to that business unit automatically. Other brands can then be assigned additional business units and start working in the platform.
If the business feels strongly that the current brand using HubSpot should not be the main one, then there may be some benefits of creating a new portal and migrating that data in. This approach will require more time and budget though.
We’ve done numerous projects like this so feel free to reach out if you need external support.
Best regards, Phil.
