Best way to filter contacts to avoid those associated with active deals?

Would it work for you to create an Active List that shows all contacts at a with Company property who has an Active Deal?

I did this by creating an Active List of Contacts. With the Company property-

• At least one associated Company has
• Associated deals is known

AND

Deal property:

• Deal stage doesn’t contain all of Closed Won (Sales Pipeline) and Closed Lost (Sales Pipeline)

You can modify your Deal stages as you need.
