Best practice on tracking strategic deals

Hello,

My company has a deal that we are considering a “risk” by way of lower price for the specific strategic advantage it might give us. Because of this, we want to better track any future deals that resulted from this deal (whether it be more deals with this company, or in the area).

Any suggestions on best practice for tracking deals that resulted following this original deal? Is it as simple as using a parent-child association where all future deals are associated to this original deal? Just looking for the cleanest way to identify and report on this.

Hi @MDiaz705,

If you don’t have any specific requirements beyond being able to trace back the relationships, then yes, association labels are a good solution here: Create and use association labels

They would allow you to:

  • Build reports based on these labels
  • Create segments to filter for origin deals
  • See the relationship in the right sidebar
  • Apply deal tags based on the association

Best regards
