My company is a software consulting firm, so our ability to make a Quote have some of the components of a Statement of Work such as:
Background
Scope
Assumptions
Roles and Responsibilties.
I know that we can add Seller Comments in a Quote, but those comments are dwarfed by the Products and Services section which makes the Quote more of a transactional document for us.
We have similar quote requirements for security testing. We could actually benefit greatly from a templating system (like snippets) but for building Statements of Work. We have a lot of language that is boilerplate but it is interspersed with customizations because we do many different types of tests, and our clients often have custom asks.
I totally agree with this. One of the largest short comings of Hubspot is it’s inability to support any other kind of Sales document other than quotes.
I love the quote feature, but they are rarely used in my industry. Most of the time the client wants to see a statement of work.
