I want to back up data on some contacts. Some properties, as well as the emails, documents and attachments. I am facing a problem in backing up the emails and attachments because I can’t seem to find the properties related to emails and attachments so that I can export them through the excel file.

Any suggestion on how to do it?

Hi @SMomo,

It’s currently [not possible to export contact engagements](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/articles/kcs_article/cos-general/what-data-can-i-export-from-hubspot) (notes, tasks, emails, meetings, calls), at least not out-of-the-box. There are workarounds using third-party integrations. I haven’t tested this myself but other users have mentioned [import2 data migration](https://www.import2.com/hubspot/crm/from/hubspot) and [Ultimate Data Export](https://ecosystem.hubspot.com/marketplace/apps/marketing/analytics-data/ultimate-data-export-224046).

Another alternative would be custom solutions based on the [HubSpot Engagements API](https://legacydocs.hubspot.com/docs/methods/engagements/engagements-overview).

Lastly, if you have a Professional or Enterprise subscription, you could create a custom activity report and export the report data. Let me know if you need further guidance with this part.

There is also a [thread on this topic](https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Import-export-activities-engagements/idi-p/11960) in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community. I’d recommend upvoting this thread and leaving a comment with your use case.

Hope this helps!

Thanks! I don’t want to use API. What can be done through the reports? Mainly I need email and attachment section backup.

@SMomo attachments can unfortunately not be exported through reports. You’ll have to look into the integrations as the only remaining options if the API isn’t one.

Hi @SMomo , if you’re still trying to solve this, then I can highly recommend our app ProBackup. It may be exactly what you are looking for as it allows you to back up (and restore) contact engagements.

You can more info about on ProBackup on the HubSpot app marketplace: [HubSpot Marketplace](https://ecosystem.hubspot.com/marketplace/apps/pro-backup-380854)

Hi @SMomo,

If you just want an easy way to back up your HubSpot data without overcomplicating things, [Skyvia](https://skyvia.com/backup/hubspot-backup) might be worth checking out. It lets you set up automatic backups for stuff like contacts, deals, etc., and you can restore specific records when needed.

It’s also listed on the HubSpot [marketplace](https://ecosystem.hubspot.com/marketplace/apps/skyvia). Simple to get started, and no coding needed.
