Hi there,

I have created a public app within an app developer account with the **scope contacts read and write**. I want to use this app within AWS Appflow. When I created a flow within Appflow I entered the client ID and secret of the app and connected it to my hubspot developer test account (successfully according to Hubspot).

AWS Appflow shows the following error though:

_Error authenticating to connector: The request failed because the service Source HubSpot returned the following error: Details: The request failed with status code 403_

I have tried before to connected the public app with my free “regular” hubspot account I got the same error. After researching I found the following statement in the hubspot docu:

**Your app is generating** **403** **errors from trying to use the Contact Lists API with Marketing Hub Free accounts, which do not have access to contact lists. If your app repeatedly gets** **403** **errors for missing the proper scopes, it should stop making calls to retrieve lists from that account.**

I then created the hubspot developer test account which is supposed to have access to contact lists, but still the same error occurs…any ideas?

Best

Moritz

Hey, @MrtzRchrtz 👋 Did you get this resolved? If not, can you grab a screenshot of the full error message, please? The error you’re referencing in the HubSpot documentation.

Thank you! — Jaycee

Ensure your app includes all the scopes listed in [AppFlow’s docs for the Hubspot connector](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/appflow/latest/userguide/connectors-hubspot.html).

I found that the crm.schemas.custom.read scope is required and yet is missing from the URL that Amazon AppFlow uses to set up the connection. I had to manually add the scope to the URL.
