Automatically Upgraded for more Marketing Contacts?

Hello Community!

I am curious if anyone knows how marketing contacts are generated? I am new to hubspot (1 month user) and understand if you upload contacts that there is an option to assign them as marketing contacts or not. My questions is- Is there pther ways marketing contacts get assigned? For example, if we have a form filled out and the form is collecting first name, last name, email and other information- does tha form submission contact turn into a marketing contact?

Would be helpful to know all the ways it can happen! Thank you in advance for the help!
