Automatically Block Contacts from Receiving Marketing Emails

We have some contacts in our database that have a property “Non-Compete in Place” that indicates that contacts are off-limits. What automation can ensure that these contacts do not recieve marketing emails when this box is checked?

Hi @alexagatiss,

I would recommend to unsubscribe these contacts as explained here whenever you mark them as non-compete anyway: Unsubscribe an individual contact from receiving all email

If that’s not an option, you can enroll contacts in a workflow based on your custom property, then use the “Manage communication subscriptions” workflow action to unsubscribe them from each subscription type.

When building a workflow to manage communication subscriptions, I see this message:

So, if a contact keeps opting in, and we want to opt them out, will the workflow override their preference? The pop-up has me questioning. Thanks!
