Looking at the history of this thread, I actually can’t believe this still hasn’t been added to the product roadmap!
When creating new contacts manually, users should be able to select the associated company from a dropdown instead of relying on either a workflow to copy company information to the contact record, or the email and domain (which often aren’t always available). Neither are long-term solutions to a very common problem.
