Automatic Phone Number Formatting on Import (SMS)

I generally like most of HubSpot, and I love that I can now use HubSpot for integrated SMS messaging. Unfortunately, inconsistently formatted phone numbers cause a big problem by severely limiting the send count (only 169 out of 5000+). I have used other CRMs that have a feature of automatically formatting a phone number on import or when entered manually, and I see that this topic was discussed here back in 2018. With the addition of integrated SMS, it would be an essential feature to have as part of HubSpot now. So, is there a timeline to add this essential feature?

Has this request been implemented?

Based on research, I can only find that a user must select the Country Code (dropdown left of phone number input) at the time of entry or editting the number.

Is it NOT possible to set a default or restrict Country Code selections? If a company only does business in specific countries, it would be great to only allow user’s to select from those countries and all other number would be entered as unformatted at bare minimum have a default Country Code selected when entering in a new number or editting an existing unformatted phone number.

+1 for this one! (no pun intended)

My client recently purchased the HubSpot SMS add-in and we are also seeing much lower send counts. Also, since HubSpot workflows doesn’t recognize a phone number without a country code, I’m unable to reliably subscribe / unsubscribe people based on a custom SMS Opt-In field we’ve created for our inquiries to select / deselect.

This feels like an essential feature to improve send rates and overall benefit of HubSpot’s native SMS add-on!
