With 3 digits taxes too, here il Quebec, we have the GST 5% and the PST 9.975%
Still trying to get some traction on this. I’ve heard something might be up by end of 2024, but would appreciate an official response from the HS team

Hi everyone who’s following this idea,
there is a beta for a library of tax rates for products now.
Although the taxes have to be added to each product, it’s a good interim solution.
(We have only a few products, so that was quickly done. For more products perhaps an import would help, I didn’t try)
I am not seeing the new tab under product library.

What is missing for me is to be able to apply VAT to the whole quote - for now VAT is only applied to the items billed in the first invoice
so if you have a mix of one off products and a recurring fee, VAT is applied to the one off elements and the first month of the recurring ones - this makes for a total that has no sense and is very confusing when we are dealing with raising POs for instance
Is it possible to change options around this?

@Angela_W certainly a step in the right direction, but sadly for us in with intense US operations still not a very useful release from HS, as there are 1000s of tax rates depending on the PLZ of the client 
Some of you may have missed it, but HubSpot launched a Tax rate system. To get it you have to go in settings > products > tax Rates.
There you can define a tax rate that will be available for each line item.
It is not automatic yet so you have to choose for each line item the tax rate and it doesn’t keep it in memory for the next one (which would have solved everything … we are so close to it !)

Unfortunately, In Quebec we have two taxes and the total of those is 14.975% HS handle 2 digits after dot… they knows, they’re charging us taxes on their billing. We’ll wait
Is there any plan to allow users to define tax rates through the product library so taxes dont have to be selected for each line item?
We urgently need that option, the creation of a quotation is generated too slowly
Quote generation is arguably the slowest feature in Hubspot, and manually entering Tax, is both time-consuming and leads to errors.
Is there an update on applying Tax on all quotes or products?
This is a must-have feature. Every product item has to have a standard tax and the whole invoice has to show in the summary which taxes are included in the invoice and whether the tax has to be paid or not (i.e. VAT ID in Europe is provided by a business customer). In Europe, the finally VAT depends on the country in which the end-customers lives (different tax rates in nearly every EU-Country).
Hello, it’s surprising that a software like HubSpot does not offer the possibility to automatically display VAT in quotes. It seems to be quite simple, but when users forget, several thousands (see tens of thousands of euros) can be lost. For a quote editor, this should be one of the main features. Surprising to see that in addition to this, an article was written in 2020 for this problem.

I’ve seen the option to add VAT to line items and this may help in some instances.
However, for my business, we regularly sell abroad which means that we don’t always add the VAT.
The ideal situation is that there is a simple algorithm that adds VAT / Local Sales Tax etc to in-country / in-state sales as appropriate. There should also be the option to overide this.
This is the way Sage and other accounting systems work.
The simplest, quickest fix is to have a popup confirm button. This should be an opt-in feature.
During the Quote creation, when leaving the line item page, if no tax is added the popup fires.
There should be a text box with the default tax percentage pre-filled.
This percentage can be changed.
There would also be ‘Cancel’ and ‘Add’ buttons.
Hopefully this can be implemented. I have had many times where human error has caused no VAT to be added to quotes. We now have disclaimers on our Quotes to protect us legally (eg VAT will be added where applicable) but it can still make us look inefficient.
Finger crossed, hopefully this quick fix can be easily implemented.

Hello there, could we have a feature that would automatically set and freeze Tax rate in the line items ?
Having sales reps manually choosing which tax rate to every line item is not what we expect from a CRM like Hubspot.
The “Tax Rate” field should be mandatory in “Line Items” and automated based on “properties” like for the example the client’s country.
