I’ve seen the option to add VAT to line items and this may help in some instances.
However, for my business, we regularly sell abroad which means that we don’t always add the VAT.
The ideal situation is that there is a simple algorithm that adds VAT / Local Sales Tax etc to in-country / in-state sales as appropriate. There should also be the option to overide this.
This is the way Sage and other accounting systems work.
The simplest, quickest fix is to have a popup confirm button. This should be an opt-in feature.
During the Quote creation, when leaving the line item page, if no tax is added the popup fires.
There should be a text box with the default tax percentage pre-filled.
This percentage can be changed.
There would also be ‘Cancel’ and ‘Add’ buttons.
Hopefully this can be implemented. I have had many times where human error has caused no VAT to be added to quotes. We now have disclaimers on our Quotes to protect us legally (eg VAT will be added where applicable) but it can still make us look inefficient.
Finger crossed, hopefully this quick fix can be easily implemented.
