# Automated Email

I’m looking to have an automated email with a survey sent out to customers only after they have a deal closed with us. I just want to confirm with the parameters shown in the image this will only send the email to customers who close a deal from this

point on and not any past situations.

Hi @JFair,

If you turn on the workflow, HubSpot should ask you whether you want to enroll existing deals – which is when you can choose accordingly.

I personally find this too risky (especially if someone incorrectly turns off and back on again the workflow), so I highly recommend adding the additional criterion “AND Close date is less than 1 day ago”.
