Hi,

For our use case I want to open deals for the sales team for any new contacts or existing contacts if they re-engage or re-enquire so can I implement following?

1. If new contact is created via form fill or acquired through ad campaign then I want deal to opened for sales team and it should be assigned on round robin basis to the sales team.

2. If existing contacts re-enquire then same should happen as mentioned above.

3. Say if I get some record in excel that needs to be uploaded. I want to make sure for new contact deal has to be created while uploading. And for existing contacts the new deal has to opened. And in both case I want to make sure deal source is through list upload.

You should be able to do this, but one thing I would also want to do with the automation is do some sanity checks and make sure there is not already a deal in play, potentially on the contact or company level depending on how your business works to avoid duplication. To make sure stuff happens you will also want to set up re-enrollment, sometimes I find re-enrollment works better if you build the criteria off smart lists which then are used to enroll someone into the deal creation process.

For the final one, you could also create a field that will trigger your automation when loading an Excel file.

Hey @ajinkyamurtey

You can do all 1,2 and 3 with workflows.

Just to clear out that first you need to import the contacts from the excel and then the deals are created.

When importing manually the source for the contact will always be Offline sources

but then you can attribute the creationg of the deal to a different source in the deal properties.

hope this helps

@Lucila-Andimol & @JustinPerkinsC thank you very much for both your inputs. A follow up query on this.

Is there any way to know the deal source? Like I said I want to create auto deals for every submission. There can be an instance some time contacts comes through contact us form then deal source should be contact us form.

So is there any way to make deal source constant to attribute the following,

Deal A has a deal source of contact us form because contact A filled out the contact us form.

Deal B has deal source of Landing Page Form as contact A filled out Landing Page form.

Despite of the contact sources changes I want to make sure deal source should capture the source value through which deal was created. Even though if then deal is closed won and lost. Let me know if I was clear with my ask.

hey @ajinkyamurtey

yes, but it requires Enterprise licence to have [Attribution reports for Deals.](https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-attribution-reports)

 ![Screenshot 2024-04-04 at 11.41.10.png](https://d2qpr2jzcazej7.cloudfront.net/original/3X/d/7/d755903dea15c20eefb021f497ff480992426e61.png)

What we do instead with some customers is use the Original source for deals (standard from HubSpot) or we create a custom property that works with Original source

but with the detail that they need.

hope this helps
