# Auth method for settings (Video Conferencing Extension API)

Hi,

I’m currently implementing the integration to the Video Conferencing Extension API in my private app and noticed a decrepency in the documentation.

The guide states that the requests to the Settings API can be authenticated with the access token:

The API endpoint reference on the other hand refers to the Developer API key instead as auth method:

1. Are both approaches valid and interchangeable? Only authenticating via the access token and not specifing the Developer API key gives me the following error when trying to send a request to the GET settings endpoints:

_“The scope needed for this API call isn’t available for public use. If you have questions, contact support or post in our developer forum.”_

2. I tried to follow the guide to retrieve the Developer API key ([Developer platform - HubSpot docs](https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/api/developer-tools-overview#developer-api-keys)), but the described UI is not matching mine. Is this still up to date?

Any help would be much appreciated!
