I have a quandary about Association Labels - it’s possible I’m a. trying to get it to do something it’s not supposed to do, or b. haven’t set it up correctly, or c. am not using it in segments properly, so please don’t spare my feelings if I’m being dumb haha!
I have an Association Label pair for companies; let’s call it Label A and Label B for simplicity. Label A has a 1-to-many pairing with Label B.
I need to use this label in a segment - I want to select everyone who is in a company which has Label A on it. I have created a segment with the object Contacts. As I understand it from the documentation I’ve read (and other topics on here), to do this, I need to ‘add filter’, choose companies (associated) at the top, then chose ‘create date’, choose ‘is known’ - thus getting to this point:
and then, I click on the ‘any company’ at the top to choose the association label, but the label doesn’t appear in that drop down - in fact, none of the labels that are in the first screenshot appear in that list; there are only 2 labels that show up in the dropdown, and so far as I can see, those two labels don’t appear anywhere in the associated objects and labels tab within the data model builder.
So my questions are:
- how do I use the association labels in a segment?
- or can I not do that at all, and in which case, can someone explain what the point of them is?
- where are the other labels which don’t appear to be in my “data model setup” section coming from??
