Associate calls and emails to a campaign based

Hi all,

Most of my campaigns involve manually sent emails, sequences, and manual calls. I want to track those under the campaign using an association. I can do it manually, but I don’t want to ask the sales team to manually add an association for hundreds of activities per month.

Is there a way to automatically associate manual emails and calls to a campaign? I was trying with a workflow, but I can’t find a way to do it, and I can’t find anything in the settings.

Thank you

Hi @LisaCerrone,

As far as I know, no, this is not possible – but a valid request you could make to the product team here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas

As far as potential workarounds go, I would see these two:

  • With Operations Hub Professional or Enterprise, you might be able to create a call-based workflow, for example, and use a custom code action based on the engagements API to establish the campaign association. I haven’t tested it but it might be possible – however limited to those assets that HubSpot offers workflows for, like calls.
  • In the sequence settings, you can associate a sequence with a campaign. All assets within the campaign, should, if I remember correctly, associate correctly to the campaign. Anything outside of that would unfortunately have to be added manually.
  • If adding the contacts to the campaign and not the activities specifically is an option, you could create a workflow that adds your contacts to a static list (based on sequence, call types, email subject lines), then associate the static list with the campaign.

Best regards!

Hi @karstenkoehler thanks for the reply.

1)Not having Operations Hub Professional, it is not doable

2)The sequences emails are not associated to a campaign even if the sequence is linked to a campaign

3)I was thinking about a custom property on a contact and create a workflow to change the property based on the last sequence enrolled but it means that it will involve a lot of maintenance of the workflow when new sequences and campaigns are created

@LisaCerrone thanks for the reply – yes, overall, the situation is not optimal. I’d recommend requesting better options from the product team: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/idb-p/HubSpot_Ideas
