Assign Conversation Owners within Workflow

I support that this idea could be very usefull and help a lot of companies !

I am really waiting on this feature to be implemented

Would be amazing, i need this!

Seems strange that this doesn’t already exist. Without this we are very limited in how we assign conversations, we need to be able to assign conversations based on things other than the inbox they come into. Please can we get this feature.

This would be super useful. I completely agree that this will help many companies and service teams

Being able to setup a workflow to change owner of the Conversation to match the Ticket owner would be a very useful feature!

We would really need this as now conversations need to be assigned manually based on ticket owner.

I would love to be able to use this!

This is a must have in my book. It will be verry hard to not be able to control, who is responsible for a conversation with certain properties.

This would be a very helpful feature for us as well. We need to have more control for assignments/routing when it comes to incoming conversations. Eg, based on a subject line or perhaps tags or custom properties on a contact record.

Great idea!

Really really need this! The automation of the conversations tool is very limited. I do not wish for conversations to be a round robin, our team are assigned conversations based on a ticket property would be very useful if this could be automated instead of having to manually do it.

Please add this feature!

It would be great to have that feature.

Adding my support to this topic! I would like to be able to remove the assigned owner in a workflow!

I also just discovered that assigning conversation owners is blocked by hubspot. We have a whole bunch of “unassigned” conversation owners coming in from our email connection to the inbox, it seems like a flaw that i can’t assign these unassigned contacts through a workflow.

Supporting this idea.
Allowing us to assign conversation owners via workflow is most needed.
Question: How much more support is usually needed to implement ideas like this??

Hello, everyone! This topic has been getting a steady set of advocates over the last few weeks, so I’m chiming in as the Product Manager of Service Hub routing and assignment to let you know:

  • You are HEARD! We understand that conversation assignment is painful not to have in workflows for a multitude of reasons outlined here, but especially because of the disconnect between tickets and conversations, and tickets being the only way to customize routing and assignment beyond Inbox Settings.
  • We are in the planning stage of building a new workflow action that will allow for direct assignment (assignment to a single owner in a single inbox, ignoring availability or capacity) of conversations that meet the conditions of a conversation-based workflow. We’re targeting a Q4 release, and I’ll add an update when we start our beta stage.
  • Longer term, we’d also like to add the ability to assign conversations to a group of users or teams, taking user availability and capacity into account, to reduce the reliance on tickets for Inbox routing. We don’t have a committed priority for that effort.

Keep adding your thoughts and use cases! These help us drive priority on our product roadmaps and let us know what problems we need to solve. Know that we are listening even if we don’t always respond. :slightly_smiling_face:

Any update on this one yet?

It would be GREAT to have both conversation and ticket owners linked together!

@jdemello
Just to chime in with a use case, since I would love to have this functionality:
We send quite a few transactional emails with ticket-triggered workflows. Many of these emails are sent with personalised signatures and the like, but from a team email. When the customer replies to these emails they enter the conversation inbox as unassigned. So reps have to look at them, expand the window to look at the signature, and then lastly assign it to the right rep. If we could (with workflow) assign it to the ticket owner that would be absolutly amazing.
