Are people who opted out of marketing emails automatically opted out from marketing lists?

I have crossed checked our opt-out list with a list I pulled to send a marketing newsletter to and have seen that contacts who have opted out are still on the marketing list. Wondering if when I press send they are automatically ‘not sent’ the email? If not, how do we exclude them?

Contacts who are opted-out of HubSpot marketing emails are not ‘removed’ from HubSpot lists. However, that still being true, those contacts will NOT be sent marketing emails no matter what.

Remember, lists are simply collections of contacts that meet specific criteria. The presence in or absence from a list has absolutely nothing to do with the opt-in / opt-out ability to receive email from HubSpot unless that list specifically includes email opt-out criteria.

Also important to note, once opted-out of a specific email type (marketing or one-to-one), there is nothing you can do within HubSpot to begin sending to that contact again. Each opted-out contact that wishes to receive email from HubSpot again must complete the resubscribe process (if setup for your portal).

Thanks Frank! This answers my question

Excellent @ShariHigh, please mark as solved.

Hi there,

Can you filter out those that have ‘opted-out’ within your email lists, so they are not included in email campaign analysis?

If so how - please?

Many thanks

Pips

If you leave these people in your list and use it for an email, do those effect your successful deliveries metric, or any other metric?

Frank how are you. In addendum to the email above, we are using AirCall in addition to Hubspot. If a person opts out of Hubspot email will they automatically be removed from AirCall list of same names?

This is helpful info but do thiose people that have opted out but remain on our marketing list count towards our monlthy limit?
