Apple Ad: Does it Deserve the Criticism?

Last week, Apple unveiled the newest iPad with the ad “Crush”. In the ad, a hydraulic press crushes a warehouse of items including a trombone, metronome, candy, and a squish ball. It has sparked controversy with some labeling it “tone deaf” or that it “lacks any respect for creative equipment”. It’s funny I know it garnered a lot of criticism but I thought it was a smart commercial. I saw it as a homage to all the creative equipment made for the media and entertainment industry over the years, but also conveyed how all of this advancement is now comprised in one small device. Joe Daly Rafael Santos I agree, my immediate thought was not very negative. But I understand the criticism completely. I do think you’re going to have a strong response from the community if you show destruction of one thing to create another.
