# Allow workflows to trigger off associated contact unknown

At the moment, in order to report accurately on a deal there has to be an associated contact but there is no way to ensure a contact is added. When adding a deal neither the contact or company are mandatory fields and there is no way to make them mandatory. But there is also no way to trigger workflows based on “associated contact unknown” so you can’t put in a failsafe to ensure it gets added.

It would be great if we could trigger a workflow off deals with no associated contact or even make the fields mandatory when adding deals. So for example I’d like to create a workflow to task deal owners when they haven’t added a contact.

This feature is critical for accurate reporting. I’d definitely use this feature.
