Allow Use of Snapshot Date in Custom Report Builder

I want to be able to use Snapshot Date as a field in the Custom Report Builder. Currently, it’s only available in a few pre-built Sales Analytics reports (like Historical Snapshots), and those reports can’t be customised, severely limiting our ability to analyse how key metrics change over time.

We aim to track things like the sum of weighted Amounts in company currency for open deals by snapshot date to understand how our pipeline evolves. Right now, this isn’t possible with custom reporting tools, and the workaround of combining two separate reports or exporting data externally is inefficient.

Adding Snapshot Date as a usable dimension in Custom Reports would unlock much more flexible and powerful time-based reporting. This would be a huge value-add for revenue teams doing pipeline forecasting and historical analysis.

This is a fantastic suggestion, and it would absolutely unlock more powerful and flexible time-based reporting in HubSpot, especially for revenue teams looking to track pipeline evolution, forecast changes, and analyze historical trends with more precision.

Right now, the inability to use Snapshot Date in the custom report builder is definitely a limitation, and having to rely on pre-built reports (without customization) can be frustrating for more advanced analysis.

As a workaround that isn’t ineffective and can actually be fully automated - we’ve seen a lot of teams use Coefficient’s HubSpot-certified 2-way sync to pull snapshot-like data into Google Sheets or Excel—automatically, on a schedule.
You can configure your import to grab weighted amounts for open deals, timestamp them using your own logic or import schedule (effectively replicating snapshot dates), and then build fully custom historical trend dashboards over time.

And if you want to bring those visualizations back into HubSpot, it’s easy (I made a video about this recently)

  • Publish your Sheets charts using Google’s “Publish to Web” option
  • In your HubSpot dashboard, go to Actions → Add other content → Other content
  • Paste in the embed code

Now, every time your Coefficient sync runs, your spreadsheet chart—and the embedded chart in HubSpot—will refresh automatically, giving you a live, historical pipeline tracker.

That said, it would be amazing to see Snapshot Date become natively available in Custom Report Builder. Hope this one gets some traction!

Agree that this would be very useful. We can create historical deal snapshot reports in the sales analytics tab that show breakdown by deal stage. This all works perfectly. However, in some occasions you want to break down the deal snapshot reports by custom deal properties rather than the default deal stages.

Yes, we are running into serious reporting issues without this feature. We track multiple “amounts” on a deal record because the amount value entered at the beginning of a funnel needs to be tracked separate from the amount value the client ends up paying at the end of the funnel. We need to be able to look back at historical snapshots of both amounts to see what was happening.

This is a great idea. I’ve been hit with endless issues trying to analyse point in time data, particularly around historic conversions. It seems odd that the snapshots can show the summary data, but you can’t drill down into them at all.

This really is a must have for a CRM! Constant issues when trying to report on historic data and changes made to Deals and other objects!
